Coniston Power Boat Records Week 2017 - Day 3

Wednesday 1st November 2017

Day 3 2017

Despite the water, this morning being described as “Chunky” by one official, Ben Jelf from Kent was the first run of the day in his Catamaran Hull boat.

With the weather conditions favoring the larger boats, it was Julian Clegg in his Gas Turbine Inshore Class boat who set the first record of the day at 96.72mph, increasing his World record set yesterday.

The fastest Record of the day was again set by Tom Montgomery-Swan, this time in his rib boat he achieved an average speed of 114.85mph in the Outboard Immersed Propeller Monohull class which was a new National record.

A total of 33 runs today from a weekly total number of 47 entries in total who have broken or rebroken 5 World records, 2 World & National Records and 17 National Record.

We are back on the water tomorrow at 8am and the weather forecast is set to make it another busy day for record-breaking in this cathedral for World Water Speed Records.
